Spend a different New Year’s Eve, you just need to choose a theme

New Year’s Eve, the dinner, the ball and the first hours of 2011 can be spent in an unusual atmosphere, in historical and refined places. For many years, the “Themed New Year” has become a must in various locations in Italy, with parties organized by public and private associations. Here is a brief overview of the opportunities for this 2010 towards the end.

Corinaldo – Ancona
The Medieval themed New Year will be held in Corinaldo, in the province of Ancona, in a historic home of this medieval village. The program includes a warm welcome by lords and ladies of the manor, who will bring back the spirit of the period: courtiers, dames, knights and jesters will be divided into two districts and they will fight each other to solve mysteries with the help of magic and fantasy, dream and reality. Next stops will be the Arsenal and the Certosa, to get closer to Venice around midnight and toast the New Year near Piazza San Marco where you can admire also the fireworks show. On the way back, you will sail along the islands of San Giorgio, La Grazia, San Clemente, Santo Spirito and the Lido (Culture office: 041 274 8916)
