Nye in Moena – the fairy of the Dolomites
Moena is a picturesque tourist resort very appreciated by tourists to celebrate New Year’s Eve, mainly thanks to the charm of the valley, surrounded by the peaks of the Latemar and the Vallaccia. It is not by chance called the Fairy of the Dolomites, preserving a particular fairy tale charm.
At dawn and dusk the snow-capped peaks that surround Moena are colored pink, adding fairy-tale charm to an already fascinating scenario. For this natural phenomenon of light refraction, the most populated location of the Val di Fassa – about 2600 inhabitants, is nicknamed the “Fairy of the Dolomites.”

In what is considered to be the classical homeland for bikers, there are countless mountain bike paths to ride through. Here, indeed, for the past 12 years, takes place the “Rampilonga”, one of the most important Italian bike marathons, as well as the famous cross country ski marathon called the Marcialonga.
Apart from a couple of landmarks worthy of note – such as the church of San Vigilio in Piazza C. Battisti and an unusual museum- workshop named Bottega del Pinter, where Domenico Dellantionio worked as a barrel maker – Moena is a typical resort where the main attractions derive from the outstanding surrounding nature and from the possibility to practice all winter sports, thanks to the premium quality accommodation facilities.
