New Year’s Eve in Vienna!

New Year’s Day in Vienna is famous throughout the world for New Year’s Day Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic in the hall of the Musikverein.

This year, the director will be George Pretre, who has already conducted the Philharmonic in 2008.

In Saint Sylvester night, Vienna’s old town and especially the Town Hall Square are completely decorated with colored Christmas lights, food stalls along the streets, Christmas markets and boxes scattered in every square for concerts of rock and folk music.

Along the Danube, for a more tranquil and romantic New Year’s Eve, there are many boats where it is possible to eat and celebrate midnight enjoying the shows of fireworks that color the sky of the Austrian capital.

About the Author

Hi, I'm Andrea, a travel blogger, web programmer, seo apprentice and amateur photographer based in Milan. I love reading, I love music. I love to travel but only if I leave on a mission! I've been traveling through most of Europe and I love writing about it. I love photography, especially as a way to document experiences, places, events. My Nikon D300 camera is always with me, and it helps me in sharing my life with the rest of the world. Getting in touch with new people, different life styles and foreign traditions, and write about it, is all I can ask for.
