Trentino, child-friendly ski holidays
A holiday in Trentino is synonymous with relaxation, nature and fun. In any season, this region features many recreational opportunities for all tastes and ages.
For the upcoming winter season, Trentino is getting ready to welcome millions of skiers on the slopes of its magnificent resorts, equipped with modern lifts, hotels directly on the slopes, and all the necessary services to make a skiing holiday as pleasant as possible.
In the provinces of Trento and Bolzano there are some of the most famous ski resort in the world, such as Madonna di Campiglio, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Canazei, Selva di Val Gardena, San Martino di Castrozza, but also less known but equally beautiful locations such as the countries of the Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme. Here, holidays are not just about sports and relaxation but also social life and fun.
The tourist and ski locations in the mountains of Trentino, are part of the of Dolomiti Superski area: more than 1200 km of slopes serviced by hundreds of next generation ski lifts. All this for the holidays of families with children, who in Trentino can be sure to find suitable locations and services, but also dedicated events, especially in the period between December and the Epiphany.
Some of the most famous events embrace: Borgo di Rango (Trento) on December 12 becomes a land of tales and fantasy, with jesters, musicians and jugglers; in Arco, on November 27 and 28, colored trains arrive from all over Italy, which will animate the streets and squares of the historical centre. In Bolzano, with Christmas desserts such as the Zelten, for the whole period you can enjoy the Enchanted Forest of Palais Campofranco, a noble castle completely adorned with Christmas decorations. From December 27 to 30, in Selva di Val Gardena, will be held a snow sculpture contest, on the theme “games for children”; on December 4, Stelvio will be the location of the parade of handmade masks dedicated to St. Nicholas and animated by angels, ghouls and goblins.
For winter sports’ enthusiasts, this region features… everything. Downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, backcountry, freestyle, skating, curling, ice climbing wall, toboggan runs, races on sleds drawn by dogs or horses.
