Top 5 trade shows in March in Germany

Some of the most important trade shows of the year will take place in Germany throughout March. Numismata, an unmissable event for collectors and fans of ancient coins and medals, will take place in Munich, with more than 300 international exhibitors.

Hannover will host CeBit instead, one of the world’s most important exhibitions for new technologies. The tourism sector will meet in Berlin during ITB, International Travel Show. Starting from the second week of March, it’s time for Internorga at Hamburg Messe, an international event for the wealthy food & beverage and catering industries. Last but not least, the cultural event par excellence for the world of literature: publishers, authors, journalists and readers will flock as usual to Leipzig for Leipziger Buchmesse, one of Europe’s most famous book fairs ever.

ITB, March 5-9, Messe Berlin

ITB is the World’s leading Travel Trade Show, a beacon in these years of crisis, in which the Travel & Tourism guarantee 258 million jobs globally and nearly 10% of GDP annual growth with revenue of more than 6,000 trillion USD, second of course only to banks. It’s mainly a B2B event but it’s also open to the general public, and gathers in the spaces of Berlin exhibition grounds all operators in the tourism sector, including tour operators, carriers, hotels and suppliers of reservation systems. The event is the biggest opportunity to meet with European partners and the general public gets the chance to discover new routes and destinations. More than 170.000 visitors will attend this exhibition over the four scheduled days, including more than 110.000 professionals and more than 11.000 companies from 180 countries. ITB Berlin is also one of the greatest opportunities for the world of business tourism, with events and seminars where to meet the major think tank leaders in the world of business. The latter will present their solutions related to the components of the value chain of tourism, including airlines and major car hire companies, marketing agencies, as well as the world of cruises and wellness travel.

Numismata, March 8-9, MOC

Numismata is an itinerant show, as it’s held in several cities, including Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, in Germany, Vienna, Austria. The 2014 March edition to be held in Munich will be the 44th, and will mark a record with more than 250 exhibitors occupying over 3,500 square meters within Muenchner Order Center, aka Moc. Numismata is the meeting point par excellence for collectors of coins and medals minted from ancient times to modern days. This trade show is aimed at enthusiasts and professionals, as well as investors and collectors. Not only coins and medals will be on display at the fair, but also works of art, books and accessories that revolve around the world of numismatics.

CeBit, March 10-14 Deutsche Messe

Düsseldorf-based SECUsmart GmbH takes the opportunity to introduce the exclusive SecuSUITE, the novelty in the area of encrypted telephony solutions, which Chancellor Merkel already uses on her BlackBerry, as well as SecuGATE and SecuBRIDGE, designed for fixed telephony.

Internorga, March 14-19, Hamburg Messe

International trade show dedicated exclusively to professionals operating in the food & beverage, hospitality, catering, foodservice, bakery & pastry sectors, Internorga will involve over 1.200 exhibitors in this 2014 edition. The event is an important occasion to acknowledge the grade of maturity and innovation, not only of major suppliers and operators, but also small, combative producers that enliven this ever changing industry. This year’s Internoga will focus on the latest industry trends, particularly with regards to management and orders processing platforms. An intensive program of meetings and conferences, seminars and presentations throughout the days of the event will give participants the opportunity to share opinions and deepen their knowledge.

Leipziger Buchmesse, March 14-16, Leipzig Messe
