Won’t you like to have dinner in Prague<\/strong>, to be at midnight at Dam Square and then enjoy Las Ramblas in Barcelona<\/strong>? Prague, avaricious and mysterious, Amsterdam<\/strong>, luxurious. Barcelona, la vida loca. This would be the ideal tour for a memorable New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n

First stop: Prague<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In the city of magic and romance the last night of the year should start with good music. The choice is wide for December 31, 2010. It starts at 4.00 pm with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra playing Beethoven at the Municipal House<\/strong>. 4.30 pm: enjoy Pachelbel, Mozart and Vivaldi by the Prague Royal Orchestra at the Basilica of St. George. At the Bethlehem Chapel<\/strong>, at 6.00 pm, there will be a concert entitled: “Enjoy the best of world and Czech music in Prague.” For the most demanding, at 7.30 the “Carmen” is staged at the Divadlo Hybernia theater, in Namesti Republiky<\/strong> 4, but perhaps the best show, to awake senses and mood, is at 5.00 pm, at the National Marionette Theatre: “Don Giovanni” is staged with puppets. After the show, enjoy your dinner in a typical restaurant, any of those available around Wenceslas Square<\/strong>, or at ‘U Fleku’<\/em> in Kfemencova 11, the oldest beer house in Prague, rather than ‘7 Angels<\/em>‘ in Jilska 20, serving a fine Bohemian cuisine, or ‘Novomestsky Pivovar<\/em>‘, in Vodickova 20, famous for its roast duck with dumplings.<\/p>\n

Second stage: Amsterdam <\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Midnight in Amsterdam is not celebrated inside the clubs, but on the streets, and squares such as Dam Square<\/strong><\/a>, Leidseplein<\/strong> and Rembrandtplein<\/strong>. Since late afternoon, throughout the city are set up stages for music and entertainment, waiting for midnight. But the great event that all are waiting for, is definitely the fireworks show. Surely the most spectacular are those in the Chinese quarter in Nieuwmarkt<\/strong>, starting around 11.00 and which can be enjoyed also from the terrace of Nemo, the Museum of Science and Technology<\/strong>, in Oosterdok 2. The most daredevil can participate in the collective bath in the icy waters of the North Sea from the pier of Scheveningen beach<\/strong>. Of course Amsterdam<\/strong><\/a> offers an endless array of bars and nightclubs to spend New Year’s Eve, such as the Chemistry<\/em> or the Markant Kingdom<\/em>, where reservation is almost obligatory, or discos such as Escape, Odeon<\/em> or the legendary Melkweg<\/em>, a multicultural place including cinema, art gallery, nightclub and concert hall.<\/p>\n

Third stage: Barcelona<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The capital of Catalonia in Spain, a major stop for many cruises in this period, gives its best on New Year\u2019s Eve, in terms of movida and vida loca. Starting from the evening of the 31st, in the historical centre – the Gothic Quarter<\/strong> – and the two main squares, Plaza Catalunya<\/strong><\/a> and Pla\u00e7a de Toros Monumental, thousands of people pack streets, clubs and restaurants, waiting for the great fireworks show.\u00a0 And then after, all away on Las Ramblas<\/strong><\/a>, where restaurants, clubs and discos are open well beyond the dawn of January 1, as well as the clubs of the Old Port and those along the Avenida del Tibidabo<\/strong> and the Avinguda Diagonal<\/a><\/strong>. In Barcelona, New Year is for everyone, young and old, wild and crazy people rather than quiet. There are places for everyone: at the Baja Beach Club, Passeig Maritim<\/strong> 34, waitresses wait on tables wearing a bikini; at So Da, in Carrer de Aviny\u00f3 24, you will enjoy ambient and lounge music; at the Dot, Nou de Sant Francesc 7, you will dance among cult movies; Oh’La’La, in the Avinguda Diagonal, will make you dance from 5 am onwards.<\/p>\n
