Edinburgh’s Hogmanay<\/a> Street Party & Concert in the Gardens is all about this, and draws massive crowds from all over the globe.<\/p>\n

This is the World\u2019s Best New Year Party. Hogmanay is Edinburgh\u2019s iconic Street Party, with hundreds of revelers celebrating and sharing the year end. A 3-day festival packed with events and activities for families, friends, lovers, and singles, right in the centre of the city.<\/p>\n

This year, Hogmanay officially kicks off on December 30th, with a range of great activities.<\/p>\n

The opening event of Edinburgh\u2019s Hogmanay is the Torchlight Procession<\/strong>, one of the most eye-catching spectacles in the annual calendar of the city, definitely not to be missed. Head up to Parliament Square, on December 30th, at 7.00 pm and watch the river of torch carriers as they get up to the Son et Lumi\u00e9re, where a spectacular firework- finale will light up on Carlton Hill.<\/p>\n

For those who would like to enjoy calmer celebration on December 31st there is the Candlelit Concert in St Giles\u2019 Cathedral<\/strong>, where you will experience the magic of music in one of Scotland\u2019s most iconic venues. This year\u2019s concert celebrates the music of Bach.<\/p>\n

On December 31st, 80,000 friends beneath the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle will be dancing their way into 2014 at the Concert in the Gardens,<\/strong> with incredible live music and entertainment, DJ\u2019s, giant screens, special guests, outdoor bars and the famous Midnight Fireworks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

An outdoor ceilidh experience awaits you within an exclusive area of the Edinburgh\u2019s Hogmanay Street Party. A Ceilidh Caller will teach you the moves to dance this traditional Scottish music, in the midst of exclusive food and drink and incredible views of the spectacular Midnight Fireworks.<\/p>\n

Moreover, you can choose to celebrate the arrival of 2014 by taking part in the incredible Loony Dook<\/strong>, the annual splash in the River Forth in the shadow of the world-famous Forth Rail Bridge. Over the past 25 years, thousands of people have taken part to this crazy event, generating huge amounts of sponsorship for charities across the UK.
