Declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Edinburgh<\/a> is a magical city nestled in a stunning setting. Streets steeped in legends, mythical stories, museums, art galleries and festivals: do you want to bet that even at Christmas, the most magical time of year, the city has something wonderful in store for us?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And in fact, just Edinburgh holds one of the major Christmas Festivals of Europe, that is, Edinburgh’s Christmas<\/strong>, offering a month-long program of events from November 22 to January 5.<\/strong> Over the Christmas period, Princes Street Gardens turns into a magical Winter Wonderland complete with Fairy Lights decorating the trees, Christmas Decorations an Ice Rink and a Funfair. There is also a German Market <\/strong>with quaint wooden stalls selling hot food, mulled wine, crafts and gifts.<\/p>\n

There are plenty of things to see and do<\/strong>; special events taking place will include live reindeer visits, the return of the popular Santa Express, performances by buskers and choirs, live ice sculpting, eating and drink al fresco, plus plenty of markets, stalls and much more.<\/p>\n

The theme of the opening event of the Edinburgh\u2019s Christmas Festival<\/a> will be The Twelve Days of Christmas. It’s an all singing, all dancing extravaganza not to be missed. The event is based on a series of stages up and down George Street performed by more than 60 schools and 850 performes. Each of them will performe an act, a dance a song or a piece of music to celebrate one of the 12 days od Christmas. Don\u2019t miss the opportunity to enjoy the amazing view over the Light Night from the Edinburgh Wheel.<\/p>\n

On 30th November, you will enjoy the celebrations for St Andrew\u2019s Day<\/strong>, with free events including superb ice sculptures and a stunning fire-themed show on Edinburgh Castle\u2019s Esplanade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Families with kids will have a world of fun at Edinburgh\u2019s Christmas<\/strong>. Beneath the Scott Monument, the Christmas Carousel awaits children and adults, as well as the Edinburgh’s Ice Rink, one of the largest in Europe.<\/p>\n

This year Santa Claus will be visiting starting from Novembre 24 th to meet children and collect the post from his special post boxes. You will find him at the fairytale festive grotto and children will have the chance to sit on his knee, tell him their dearest wish and and meet his helpers.<\/p>\n
