Ancient city and always new, Rimini<\/strong><\/a> offers its double personality to visitors: the monuments of a glorious past next to a modern touristy organization. Rimini is considered an ideal holiday destination, for those who want to alternate a relaxing day at the beach, rather than entertaining nights at the disco<\/a><\/strong>, to visits to art treasures from the past.<\/p>\n

The city has two alive and pumping hearts: the historical centre, with its villages, and the Marina area, made up of fifteen kilometers of beach<\/strong>, divided into ten fractions, each of which has its own traditions and rituals.<\/p>\n

Those who love cinema, quality cinema, cannot but appreciate one of the greatest Italian masters: Federico Fellini<\/strong><\/a>, who was born in Rimini and in the same Rimini his masterpieces have often lived in, constantly showing and underlining this double personality of the city.<\/p>\n

Visiting places and attractions in Rimini, you can retrace the history of this great director who, despite the initial difficult relationship with the city, “too small” for his ambitions, will remain bound with it in the deep of his heart.<\/p>\n

Starting from the Federico Fellini Foundation<\/strong> and Fellini Museum, a few steps from the station in the historical centre, where you can find books, videos and various types of documentations that narrate the story and life of the director; Palazzo Gambalunga, historic palace hosting the film library of Rimini, where Fellini attended high school; places in Rimini particularly dear to Federico Fellini, like Il Molo (the Dock), The Lighthouse on the canal harbor or the Malatesta Temple; up to the grave of the Master and his beloved Giulietta Masina, a monument that can be admired in Via dei Cipressi, by Arnaldo Pomodoro. Also the airport of Rimini<\/strong> is dedicated to Federico Fellini!<\/p>\n

Federico Fellini\u2019s Rimini is, at the same time, a real city and a virtual city. All his memories and initiations in the city go from one end to the other of his filmography: now as absolute protagonist (Amarcord), now as co-star (I Vitelloni), and sometimes simply as the guest of honor.<\/p>\n

Fact remains that Rimini, despite its beaches and its rich cultural heritage, would have probably remained in the background compared to the magnificence of other wonderful Italian cities like Rome, Milan, Florence or Venice. Instead, thanks to this brilliant director, the city has lived through cinema and entered the collective imagination as a welcoming and familiar land, which never fails to be, however, purely entertaining – in every season.<\/p>\n
