{"id":2159,"date":"2011-07-25T08:45:09","date_gmt":"2011-07-25T07:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.traveleurope.com\/en\/?p=2159"},"modified":"2013-09-27T13:48:21","modified_gmt":"2013-09-27T12:48:21","slug":"dublin-by-night-what-is-it-like","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.traveleurope.com\/en\/dublin-by-night-what-is-it-like\/","title":{"rendered":"Dublin by night &#8211; what is it like?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dublin<\/strong>, popular with young people, is the capital of the Republic of Ireland, a city on a human scale, charming and colorful, full of fine Georgian buildings, a renowned literary culture and very welcoming pubs where the nightlife explodes with fun and excitement.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--> Tourists who choose to spend a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.traveleurope.com\/ireland\/dublin.php\" target=\"_blank\">holiday in Dublin<\/a>, have a wide choice among interesting itineraries for spending their days: the shopping routes<strong> Talbot Street<\/strong> and <strong>Henry Street<\/strong>, or the luxury shops around <strong>Grafton Street<\/strong>. A must-to-be-seen is the legendary Temple Bar district and the <strong>Guinness Storehouse brewery<\/strong> museum dedicated to the famous dark beer. Around the City, don\u2019t miss a visit to the <strong>Phoenix Park<\/strong>, a large park that also houses the famous <strong>Dublin Zoo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Nights in <strong>Dublin<\/strong> offer many opportunities for fun and entertainment. The city boasts the presence of more than 800 pubs, concentrated along the banks of <strong>River Liffey<\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Temple_Bar,_Dublin\" target=\"_blank\">Temple Bar<\/a><\/strong>, Dublin&#8217;s cultural and artistic hub. Historical or trendy, outdoor or enlivened by live music, they are the ideal starting point for your evenings in the city. The law states they must close at 11pm in winter and 11.30pm during the summer, even though usually the police are fairly tolerant.<\/p>\n<p>Temple Bar is in central Dublin, a meeting point for many street artists and young people, recently renovated and converted into a real gathering spot for tourists. In the area of Temple Bar are concentrated some of the &#8216;sacred&#8217; venues of Dublin evenings, as <strong>Slattery&#8217;s of Capel Street<\/strong> &#8211; for lovers of folk, or <strong>The Brazen Head<\/strong> &#8211; the oldest pub in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Worth a mention also the legendary <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hardrock.com\/locations\/cafes3\/cafe.aspx?LocationID=392&amp;MIBEnumID=3\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Hard Rock Cafe<\/strong><\/a> and then of course the Temple Bar &#8211; the classic Irish pub, or the <strong>The Long Hall<\/strong> &#8211; one of the trendiest.<\/p>\n<p>If you still have energy, once concluded what might be termed as the &#8216;Pub Tour&#8217;, you can move to one or more of the many discos and nightclubs in Dublin. Among the most famous are <strong>Caf\u00e9 en Seine, Lillie&#8217;s Bordello, PoD, Pravda, Ri-Ra, Temple Theatre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Several cultural activities take place in the area, sponsored by the <strong>Temple Bar Cultural Trust<\/strong>;
