Marseille, a beautiful seaside resort in southern France, Provence<\/strong>. This is a large city, and not the usual small and picturesque French towns full of tourists and skyrocketing prices. It boasts a wonderful climate, much milder than that of northern France<\/strong>, and the Mediterranean Sea that laps its shores is certainly more eye-catching and inviting than the cold ocean of the rest of the French coast.<\/p>\n

Some of the most beautiful spots of Marseille<\/strong> are offered by nature itself. People are seduced by its sunny climate, the breathtaking views and beautiful beaches – with the Plage du Prado<\/strong> on the top of the list, which is the best beach of the area, with three miles of fine sand, flying kites in the sky and more or less experienced surfers enjoying the constant breeze that characterizes this corner of paradise.<\/p>\n

Not to be missed, in the nearby of the town of Cassis<\/strong> – very crowded in summer, are the cliffs of the Calanques<\/strong>, an imposing mass of rock falling sheer into the sea.<\/p>\n

Man and Nature have collaborated to create Parc Bor\u00e9ly<\/strong> – an incredible stretch of 40 hectare park near the Prado beach. Admission is free, and besides the castle of the XVIII century, worth a visit here also the botanical gardens and a pretty lake for canoeing.<\/p>\n

In general, Marseille is a place proud to show its extraordinary artistic and cultural heritage, starting from its iconic building: the Basilique Notre Dame De La Garde<\/a><\/strong>, enthroned on a hill, more than\u00a0150 meters above the city, with the precious statue of the Virgin Mary rising up into the sky.<\/p>\n

In the city you can also visit the Abbaye de Saint Victor<\/strong>, the Abbaye <\/strong>de Montmajour<\/strong> and the Ch\u00e2teau d’If<\/strong>, the latter having been the set for the Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas. Another characteristic and charming place is the Fish Market<\/strong> of the Old Port<\/strong>, where arriving early in the morning – from 8 am – you’ll find the freshest fish, often still alive. In this same area you can visit the Historical Museum<\/strong> and the Museum of Old Marseille<\/strong>. Not far away you will get to the most crowded and popular street of Marseille, the Boulevard Canebi\u00e8re<\/strong>, with plenty of shops and restaurants always very busy.<\/p>\n

In the oldest part of Marseille, you will be fascinated by the many shops and boutiques that fill the narrow streets of Le Panier<\/strong>, while the trendiest spots are located to the south, around the boh\u00e9mienne<\/em> area of Cours Julien<\/strong> and Place Jean-Jaur\u00e8s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In this city, locals go crazy for the nightlife, they usually party until late, especially in summer. Among the most popular venues: La Part Des Anges<\/strong>, 33 rue Sainte; Le Bar de la Marine<\/strong> at 15, Quai de Rive Neuve, but also the whole \u201caperitif area\u201d in Le Panier, the ethnic restaurants, the Port area for those who love lounge evenings and for those searching for cool and sophisticated clubs.<\/p>\n

With its landscapes, its beautiful sunsets, art, tradition and culture in a mix that pleases everyone, Marseille has plenty to offer. To remain captivated, at the end, by a purely lovable city.<\/p>\n
