Ibiza is one of the major islands of the Balearics, in the Mediterranean Sea. The island is only 45 km wide and 25 km long, but it\u2019s one of the most popular places to party in the Balearic Islands. Summer in Ibiza seems to never end. It officially runs from the 1st of May till the 31st of October, but also in winter we get bright sunny days most of the time.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Ibiza<\/strong> is really much more than you might expect \u2013 offering all you can imagine for an unforgettable, extreme vacation.<\/p>\n

Beaches<\/strong>
\nNo matter where you are, you are never far from one of the many wonderful beaches or sheltered little coves. From Playa d’en Bossa<\/strong> and Figueretas<\/strong>, to all the small beaches along the Bay of San Antonio<\/strong>, all well-equipped and full of bars open until late \u2013 Ibiza\u2019s beaches are some of the finest in the Mediterranean, with soft, white sand and crystal clear water.<\/p>\n

Sightseeing & Shopping<\/strong>
\nLarge portions of the island are registered as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, such as \u201cGod\u2019s Finger<\/strong>\u201d a large rock in the sea, oddly shaped like a finger, or the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta and the Punic necropolis Puig des Molins, enclosing the vestiges of the first settlements on the islands. A remarkable landmark in San Antonio is \u201cThe Egg<\/strong>\u201d a statue erected in the 90s in honor of Christopher Columbus – this is one of the places claimed to be his birthplace.
\nYou can explore narrow streets, browse local shops or enjoy a lazy lunch on a shady terrace – one of the typical gastronomic products of the island are sweets known as Flaons<\/strong>. A visit to one of the famous Hippy Markets<\/strong><\/a> is a must, where you can choose from the most exotic batik clothing to tailor-made leather moccasins and East Asian silver jewelry and trinkets.<\/p>\n

Clubbing & <\/strong>nightlife<\/strong>
\nIbiza is a perfect place for families with children \u2013 for its safe beaches, the historical and cultural attractions and the presence of leisure facilities such as the Aquarium, Go-karts and Aquamar<\/strong> \u2013 but the Island remains a destination for young clubbers, especially due to its legendary, vibrant nightlife, centered around Ibiza Town<\/strong>, the capital, on the southern shore and San Antonio to the West. Well-known nightclubs are Es Parad\u00eds and Eden in San Antonio; Pacha in Ibiza Town and the legendary Space<\/a>,<\/strong> in Playa d’en Bossa, awarded “Best Global Club” at the International Dance Music Awards in 2005 and 2006. Famous DJs from all over the World have played here, such as Judge Jules, Alfredo, DJ Giovanni and Reche. The summer program is itemized on the official Ibiza Summer Party Calendar, with day-by-day updated listings of all clubs and DJs.<\/p>\n

How to get there & where to stay<\/strong>
\nYou can reach Ibiza either by plane – with regular flights from Barcelona<\/strong>, Valencia, Mallorca<\/strong> and Alicante – or by ship, certainly more dramatic – ships to Ibiza leave from all major Spanish ports. Get to any point of the island by public transport or taxi. However, the best way to see Ibiza is to hire a car and spend the day cruising around the island. Ibiza offers plenty of accommodation opportunities: from resorts suited for families or relaxation, to those perfect for clubbers.<\/p>\n
