Frankfurt am Main is often dubbed ‘Mainhattan’ because of its famous skyline of modern skyscrapers in the central business district. The German city will put aside business for a couple of days and celebrate its skyscrapers with a huge, unique festival: the Wolkenkratzer Fest, to be held on May 25 and 26.

British Vogue has announced the return of the Vogue Festival for 2013 in association with Vertu, a British-based luxury mobile-phone manufacturer. The event, in its second edition this year, once again brings together the fashion industry’s leading companies and creative talents, and will take place next April 27th and 28th.

The festivity known as Carnevale, is mainly celebrated in Italy but also in many other places around the world. Better known as Carnival or Mardi Gras, it’s a sort of “final” party before Ash Wednesday, and it falls 40 days before Easter (so the actual date changes yearly) so, strangely enough, its roots lie in the Christian calendar.

Thinking about film festivals in Europe, there are two main events coming up to one’s mind. One is the Cannes Film Festival, which has only just passed to give room to one of Italy’s leading events ever: all cinephiles are already looking forward to August, for the 69th Venice Film Festival.
